I can't believe Steven Irwin is dead. I really feel bad for his wife and 2 kids. Although, I'm sure a lot people [including myself] were expecting this to happen sooner or later but by a crocodile rather than a stingray. I really enjoyed watching his shows and it's awful that we won't be seeing him on T.V. anymore.

Summer days

Yeah, it's been FLIPPIN' HOT the past few days and I'm seriously ready for summer to be over! The humidity is what really kills me.. even at 8 p.m. you're still sweating like a pig because it's so humid. Although, I'm quite happy that we haven't had any hurricanes so far this season. It was a year ago on the 29th that Katrina hit New Orleans and I believe around September 23rd will be a year that Hurricane Rita hit us. Just another month or two and then it's smooth sailing!

Speaking of heat, something has really been bothering me lately. It seems like every other day or so we're hearing about someone leaving their infant/child in their vehicle. Now, I know people make mistakes and can forget things at times but, SERIOUSLY, how do you forget that you have a child in the backseat?!? I really don't understand it.. really. I mean how can you even just leave your child in the car while "running in" to get a few items?? Maybe I'm clearly missing something here but it seems mildly [to put it nicely] retarded to me.

So, we're still on a house hunting mission and not really having the slightest bit of luck. We looked at ONE house and found out that it had flooded four times in the past 6 years. Yeah, NO THANK YOU! I was a bit upset about that though because I really, really liked the house but my Momma [aka life saver :)] talked sense into me and helped me get over it. Although, I'm at the point now where I could say to hell with buying we'll just rent for the rest of our lives! Ugh, looking for a house is a serious pain in the tush.

I am SO ready for Halloween! I love that time of the year and the whole atmosphere that it brings. I guess I'm more excited now because Mad's is old enough to somewhat realize what's going on and I get to play dress up with her, lol! Although, we won't be doing the whole going trick-or-treating thing yet unless it's family. Oh, and it's the time of year that I can eat ungodly amounts of yummy candy! Bring on the fatness.

Well, a lot has happen in the two months I've been M.I.A. from my blog! Ok, so not really THAT much but enough to obviously keep me busy. Life is Grand!

Not long after I made my last post our laptop had to be sent off for 2 weeks to get a new hard drive. I'm not exactly sure how or why it happened but one minute it was fine and then all the sudden it froze up and went black. D stayed on the phone with tech services for probably 5 hours and NOTHING worked. Nothing. So, we sent it off the next day and had to live life for 2 horrid weeks with out it. Yes.. it was quite tragic. It was a happy day when we got it back though. All was well again!

We've been doing a lot of travelling this summer! Maddie & I went to Texas with my Mom for a few days to visit some of la familia. Not to mention all of the road trips we've made for D's softball tournaments and we're not done yet! D and I are also planning to go somewhere for a weekend before summer's over but we're not sure where as of yet. I love road trips!

I finally got my house back home sold! I'm so happy that is done and over with. I definitely couldn't have done it without my Mommy. She handled everything from day one and did a wonderful job. Everyone tells her now that she should get in the realty business, haha! So, now we're looking for a house here and we're not having too much luck so far. Everything we come across is sold within hours! It's such an aggrivating process but I'm being as patient as I possibly can [love you, Momma! :)]. Patience is a virtue.. or so I hear.

My, oh my.. It's been quite a while since I last blogged. I get in these slumps where I don't feel like talking about anything or even sitting here and typing for that matter. Oh well, it's mine, ALL MINE! Muhahahaa!

Anyway, here lately I've been spending like ALL of my time on the message board [http://www.contestformoms.com/cfmboard/ GO JOIN!! It's great!]. It was down for quite some time and it's finally up and running again. There are some really wonderful women on there and without it [them] I would go crazy!

My Mom's coming in this weekend to visit, yay! I swear I see her now more than I did when I actually lived at home. Ok, so maybe that's a little lie.. I saw her everyday, all day, because we worked together, lol! Point being, I love visiting with and seeing my Momzies.

We are finally getting a kick start on looking for a house. I am so ready to get out of this little shit hole we're in. I'm still in the process of trying to sell my old house back home but hopefully it'll sale somewhat quickly. There are a lot of Hurricane Katrina evacuees there from New Orleans and I figured it would go rather fast being that there are so many more people looking for homes in that area. We'll see! So, we've been looking at some brand spankin' new houses being built here not far from where we live now. They're beautiful houses and I'm hoping and praying that if everything works out for us we'll be in one before too long! *Crosses fingers!*

Let me just start off by saying that I am very outdone with American Idol! I was highly pissed off when my man [Chris Daughtry] got sent home first of all and then Elliott gets the boot tonight. I really, honestly, thought that Katharine [yuck!] was going home tonight. I was almost in tears watching all of the clips throughout the show of him. Elliott came a long way and improved A LOT from the begininng. He'll have a record deal too though so he'll be ok! After Chris left though I've been rooting for Taylor all the way. He's got to win it.. GOT TO!

Anyhow, Mads and I are venturing back to my hometown tomorrow morning. Just going to get our usual visits in and also my bestfriend is FINALLY having her baby boy! EEK! I'm super excited to see him. She's being induced tomorrow morning and hopefully everything will go smoothly without any complications. K, time to sign off and get a few hours of needed sleep. Bleh.

Well, I'm officially done with American Idol and AMERICA!! Ok, not really the America part but for the people that didn't vote for Chris. I'm so upset that he's gone, I can't believe it!! I really thought he was the next American Idol. I sat here with my mouth wide open in shock when they called his name. UGH!@&@!*!!!

Oh well, I know he'll have an album come out and I'm buying it! Hmph. That's all.

To do or not to do .. That tis the question

I really hate having to make hard decisions. Really, I do.. SHIT!@#!*!!!

Well, D & I are planning on getting married within the next year or less. Ever since I was a little girl I've always dreamt of having a big, beautiful blowout wedding with all of my friends and family there. Tons of flowers, food, great music and blah, blah, blah! Well.. I've grown up and snapped into reality and , well, I just don't see that happening as I planned it. Don't get me wrong, I would still absolutely LOVE to have that sort of wedding but HELLO! We're broke and it's just not happening, lol.

We've been talking about having a small wedding or just going off somewhere and getting married. Now, I wouldn't mind one bit going off somewhere and just doing it BUT I definitely want my daughter there and, no matter what, I definitely want my Dad and Stepdad to walk me down what ever aisle I walk down. That's a must for me among everything else. Also, D said that he definitely wants his parents to be there too. So, basically, if we decide to go off somewhere [ by this I mean Vegas or some sort of island ] and get married then we'd have to pay for everyone's way there and, BAHAHA, that's totally not happening. Yet, if we do it here it'd still be quite a bit of money. I really don't think I'm making any sense of this, huh?

Case in point, we don't have any money but I really want a decent wedding. I don't know.. maybe I'm just stressing myself about this more than I should be. Sometime in the near future though I'm going to talk to a travel agent and see about prices of different places and just get an idea. We've still got a lot of talking to do about this crap too. I just think things to death sometimes. Ugh.

Neglecting my blog

Geez.. I've been ignoring my blog for a while! Lately I haven't been feeling the urge to sit down and type anything and life's been hectic for the past week too.

Since the weather has gotten so nice we've been trying to stay outside as much as possible. Mad's absolutely loves to play outside and especially in the water. My Dad gave her a little blow up pool but I've yet to blow it up, yeah I'm lazy.. blah! She has a blast in the sprinkler though. We've been trying to stay in the routine of walking in the evenings but I think I got bit by the lazy bug, lol. I'll snap out of it in a day or two hopefully.

I finally got my car back from the shop last week! Man, I was so excited when they called me and told me. I loaded up the munchkin and out the door to the body shop we went, lol. They did a wonderful job on my car, I was really impressed. My last car that I had to put in the shop turned into a complete nightmare. So, anyway, a few days after I got my car back D & I were outside looking at it [I love my car, seriously.. LOL] and he pointed out to me that the pinstripe down the side wasn't put back on AND the drivers side window wasn't automatically rolling down or up!! AHH! I freaked.. I called the body shop the following day and they said to come on in and it wouldn't take but 5 minutes at the most to fix both problems. I so thought that I was going to have to get that piece of shit rental car back and I almost cried. Bahahaha, I'm such a dork.

Moving on.. my Mom's coming to visit this weekend! I'm psyched. I miss her tons already and it's only been a week since I saw her last. Although, I know she's only coming to visit with Mad's and spoil her but that's ok, lol. I love my Mommy!

Wow, I haven't blogged in a while.. life has been crazy for the past two weeks! We went and had a retake on our pictures and they came out WAY better the second time. We took D's neice along with us and she got Mad's to smile pretty. Thank goodness for her!

Maddie's party was GREAT! I stressed myself for nothing because it turned out so nice. Maddie was in a good mood all day and had so much fun. She especially liked digging in to her cake, which I'll post pictures of! She got a lot of toys and clothes. It was definitely a memorable first birthday for our angel!

Easter was a lot of fun too. We spent it with my Stepdad's side of the family because that's really the only time we ever see them. We ate tons of food, hunted eggs, played games and danced! Everyone was dead tired by the end of the day. There were about 20 kids there so of course Mad's was extremely tired from running after them all day, lol.

We left my Mom's Wednesday morning and came back home. It feels nice to be home and be able to relax. I can finally get back into the swing of things. Gotta do laundry, clean rooms and go grocery shopping.. yay! I'm actually excited to do this stuff which is kinda strange. Ok, enough ramblin'.. Off to start on laundry.

I STILL have a headache from yesterday.. ugh! It was quite an eventful day. I turn into a complete basketcase when we have to be somewhere at a certain time, lol.

We had an appointment to take pictures and I, being the neat freak that I am, had to have everything perfect. First of all, none of us could find anything to wear and we waited until the LAST minute to go find something. I couldn't find Mad's shoes anywhere so we had to go buy her a new pair. Her hair wouldn't cooperate at all.. she was having an Einstein hair day, lol. Once we got to the studio we had to wait an extra 30 minutes. Maddie in the meantime was getting cranky [hence no afternoon nap!] and things were going downhill pretty fast. Oh yeah.. I'm PMSing!*&$#! So, we have to go back Friday to finish taking our pictures because Mad's was entirely too cranky. Whew..

After that adventure we went and ate with D's family. It was fun and everybody got to visit with the birthday girl. We all got too full to walk and then headed home, yay! I had never been more happy to get home and relax. It didn't take me long to pass out!

We ventured to the park yesterday since it was so pretty out! We walked down the street first to get something to eat for lunch then on to the park. Normally, we go to the swings first and stay there for a while.. Well, we get to the swings and there is a guy standing there holding a HUGE yellow python. Seriously, what kind of dumbass brings a huge snake to the park where there are tons of kids running around??!? Needless to say, we went to another part of the park until the fool decided to move.

Lately, I've gotten back into my online shopping habit. I try not to get too out of control but now that Spring is here everything is so cute and springy, lol. Now is the time that I start going crazy with flip flops. I know I have at least 30+ pair and some still even have tags! They're my weakness!

The day before I left my Mom's [this past Wednesday] there was a news bulletin that there was an escapee from a prison not far from my hometown. The guy was serving THREE life sentences for murder. Ok ... I tried to remain calm but hearing this just sent me into a panic attack. I'm still a nervous wreck worrying about my friends and family.

My sister lives and works relatively close to the area in which he has been "spotted" in the past few days. I call her constantly to check in with her and make sure she's ok. I've been calling everyone else too and making sure they're all safe & sound. This type of thing just makes me so paranoid. Maybe I'm overreacting but oh well..

Anyway, on a lighter note [not really since I cried while doing it], we got all the decorations and essentials for Maddie's birthday party today! I was so excited but sad at the same time, lol. My favorite thing that we got is the "highchair kit". It's got a mat to go underneath her highchair, a banner to tape across the front, a hat and bib for her to wear. I was acting like such a kid in a candy store, I wanted to get everything!

I got a phone call a few days ago from the insurance company and they informed me that my car would be in the shop for another WEEK!! :faints: Now, this wouldn't be so bad if the rental car place hadn't of given me such a piece of shit. Seriously.. I had a choice between what I have, which I'll keep under wraps so that anyone who owns one won't yell at me, or a two seater and a freakin' land barge. Oh how I miss my car..

We're finally back home! Yay! We had a really good visit with everyone though. It was a little longer than planned because D had to go out of state for a few days for work. So, we stayed at my Mom's for a while and stayed with my Dad for a few days also. Everything turned out nice!

My best friend had her baby shower on the 1st and it was great. It was more of a little pool party/bbq but it was so much fun. We were both very pleased with the outcome of it!

Oh my goodness.. Maddie's birthday is in 5 days! I still can't believe my baby's almost one. We'll probably do a little something on Wednesday with her family here and then next Saturday we're having her actual birthday party so that everyone else can come celebrate! I know I'll be going crazy with my camera, lol.

Wrecked car & ruined day!

Well, yesterday D & I got into an accident and my car is a MESS! We weren't even two hundred feet from the house and got hit by a guy who ran a stop sign. Luckily neither of us were going fast at all but it smashed my drivers side pretty bad. No one was hurt and, thank goodness, Mads wasn't in the car. I've always feared getting hit at that particular spot because I see people run that stop sign constantly and since this has happened I'm even more nervous.

So, I'm bringing it to the shop tomorrow and getting a rental for however long it's going to take to get it fixed. I'm going to miss my car! :(

Other than that my weekend's been pretty good. We've had company all weekend which has been great. Although, I could use a little quiet time and relaxation. I've got a busy week ahead of me.. going back home to visit, birthday plans, hosting a baby shower & Dr. appointment!

I got my tax refund today and it's already gone, woo! It was nice while it lasted. Although, I must admit that it feels 10 times better knowing all of our credit cards are paid off and GONE! Well, except for Old Navy and American Eagle.. I have a problem, so what!

You know.. something that really irritates me, and has even before I had Mads, is when I see people in stores [Wal-Mart to be exact] who have small babies with no shoes, socks or anything on their feet! Now, granted, if it were summer time I would somewhat understand but last night it was THIRTY EIGHT [even colder w/the wind chill] degrees outside! I see this so much here and it just gets under my skin. The little girl couldn't of been older than 8 months with no shoes, socks or blanket and no jacket of any sort! Poor baby.

So, my Dad and Stepmom are spending the weekend with us! I was slightly surprised when they asked to come but I was excited too. We had fun visiting, playing and stuffing our faces with pizza tonight. Not really sure what the plans are for tomorrow [today, I guess!]. We may go look for decorations for Maddie's birthday party. I really need to get on the ball with that, ahh!

Well, today was just a crapola day! I couldn't get motivated to do anything at all. "Blah" sums it up quite nicely. I wanted to get some laundry done but it'll still be there waiting on me tomorrow, lol. I keep thinking maybe the laundry fairy will stop by but she has yet to make a visit.

I talked to my Mom earlier and I find out that my brother has apparently quit his job and is moving out of town. Just to get you up to date, I own a house back in my hometown and when I moved here where I am at the present time my brother started paying the note and living in my house. So, when I heard this news [he didn't bother to let me know this] I was quite angry. This now means that within the next few weeks I'll be going back home to put the house up for sell. I've got to figure out what to do with the remaining furniture of mine that's there [wouldn't fit in this place!] and find a home for my cat that was there also. I just don't understand how a grown man [almost 30] can be SO irresponsible!! My nerves are shot right now.

Anyhow, I'm off to watch AI and think about doing some laundry, lol!

Lazy Sunday

Today wasn't a very productive day.. D had to work all day, of course!, so me & Mads just played and watched T.V. I tried to get a little bit of house cleaning done but I was just so lazy today! Plus, the weather was yucky all day. It rained a little earlier this morning and then it was just cloudy and muggy all day.

I did get one good thing accomplished today! I tackled our closet.. man, what a feat that was! We have a walk-in closet and since we've moved here I've had all of my purses and shoes [mainly flip flops!] still in boxes. So, I was tired of looking at it everytime I go in there and also because the weather's getting warmer and I'm going to be needing my flip flops! As if I don't wear them year round though, lol. Anyhow, there was a ton of other unnecessary junk in there that I threw out and I put all of my shoes on the shoe rack and put all of my purses on the top shelf. It looks 100% better and it made me feel better!

That's about the extent of my day! D came home and cooked his delicious meatloaf and mashed potatoes. He's such an awesome cook & 110% way better than I'll ever be!

Date Night

Me & D finally had a night to ourselves! It was fun, we went out to eat at Logan's [heaven] and then we went to the boat [casino] for quite a while. It was a much needed outing for the two of us. Mad's stayed with her Nanny tonight and I'm sure she had a lot of fun playing with her cousin all night. Anyhow, the weather here has been up & down! I wish it would just get hot and stay hot. I'm so tired of one day having to wear a jacket and pants because it's freezing out and then the next having to wear shorts & tank tops because it's so hot! I'm ready for the hot weather to get here and stay here so I can start getting some sun on this pastey white skin of mine. lol, I say that now and when it gets hot I'll be complaining that it's TOO hot! Enough blabbin', it's bed time!

I am SO glad that this week is over! I haven't had such a stressful week in a long, long time. I honestly can't even remember why it was so bad.. it just was, lol. Maddie has been extra clingy for the past few days and she's been somewhat fussy. I think she's got some more teeth coming in because she's been drooling like crazy but I give her a few of those teething tablets & she's fine. I think I am really going to like this whole blogging thing. I've been wanting to start a journal since Mads was born but I never found the time, hence I'm writing this at 1:30 in the morning! This is my free time.. after everyone goes to bed. Anyhow, we got our grocery shopping done today. Speaking of which, I always seem to go grocery shopping when I'm STARVING so everything I see looks totally delicious and I want to throw it all in the cart! Things that I don't even normally eat were looking good to me. Our next mistake was going down the Easter aisle.. hello junk food addict! So, yeah, we spent more than we needed to tonight but oh well. Comfort foods = happiness!
